CRM (Constituent Relationship Management) System

Page history last edited by PBworks 2 yrs ago

A Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system helps you manage many or all of your constituents (employees, clients, funders, venders, volunteers, donors) in one system. Some CRMs will manage contact data and interface with your donor database or financial system. CRM systems are often accessed online, so onsite storage, backup, or software installation is unnecessary. The cost for a CRM system is usually assessed monthly or annually and will vary based on vendor and agency need. Some CRMs are free while others can cost tens of thousands of dollars per year. Keep in mind that no matter what the cost of the software, a good amount of staff time will be spent converting data and learning the new system. Budget time and money for training. Articles such as this one describe the CRM selection process- http://www.idealware.org/articles/relationship_centric_org_CRM.php

What is the best method to prepare for Salesforce implementation? We have an office of 10 people and I have been assigned with the task for setting up the system. We’re a chamber of commerce and edc. We would also like to use the system to track capital campaigns, dues and donations. Is there a template to work from to set contacts up? Thanks
