Projector

For presentations in the office or on the road a projector is a necessity. Consider a portable projector if you travel a lot or give presentations to small groups in smaller rooms. Less portable projectors are usually suited for conference rooms and auditoriums. Projector brightness is measured in ANSI lumens. Be sure to purchase a projector with enough brightness for the conditions you will be using it. See http://www.projectorpeople.com/resources/bp_buyersguide.asp for information on how to choose the projector with the right features and brightness.

  • Make sure that projector resolution is at least 1024x768
  • Typically, 2000 lumens is adequate for small rooms with ambient light
  • Many projectors include a remote control that can assist you in changing slides
  • Bulbs in projectors have a finite life and can cost as much as half the projector cost – be sure to budget for these replacement bulbs
  • A good warranty is important for these devices, so read the small print
  • Consider purchasing a portable screen for presentations
